Meet your Doulas

Laura Martin

Laura has a BA in Early Childhood Education.  She is a trained Labor Doula and Childbirth Educator with ProDoula.  Her passion for birth and family support began over a decade ago as a nanny of five children, before staying home with her own three boys. Currently, Laura is working with families to reduce fear and provide support during a major life event: Childbirth. As a mom herself, Laura has personally experienced a natural epidural-free delivery, a birth with epidural, and a cesarean birth. She specializes in VBAC support and emphasizes the importance of confidence and a feeling of security during the prenatal journey. Laura continues to support other moms and new families to navigate through the new experiences and challenges that pregnancy and parenthood may bring. Having a doula will enhance your birth experience, by providing you education, physical comfort, and emotional support so that you may feel confident to labor how you desire, and experience birth the way you envision it.

As a mother of three, Alyssa understands firsthand the power of a supportive birth environment. Having experienced three unmedicated births—each uniquely different—she has walked the path from fear to excitement in childbirth. Her personal journey fuels her commitment to helping families cultivate positive and empowering birth memories.

Alyssa holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology with an emphasis in Cognitive Neuroscience and Biology from the University of Mary Washington. With her background, she encourages mothers to harness both their mental and physical strength to stay focused and relaxed throughout labor.

She is passionate about the intersection of spiritual formation and childbirth and, for those interested, is honored to provide spiritual support alongside her doula care.

Brittani Brasowski

Brittani is a mother of three who knows firsthand the feminine power of birth. Each of her unmedicated births was a deeply personal journey, guided by trust in her body, connection with her partner, and relaxation as a tool. She understands the vulnerability, empowerment, and beauty that comes with bringing new life into the world. These experiences have shaped her approach as a doula, where she lends her calm, supportive presence within each sacred birthing space.

Her passion for supporting moms through labor began when her oldest was born, and it has only grown stronger with each birth. Before becoming a doula, Brittani was a full-time mom in school part-time working towards her nursing degree. Her deepest desire is to one day become a certified nurse midwife, and when she realized she could lend her steady, nurturing presence as a doula while she works towards this goal, she was elated. Becoming a trained doula through ProDoula was deeply empowering, and she is so excited to bring her knowledge and connection to your birth.

Believing that every birth is a beautifully unique experience, she offers steady, compassionate support in whatever birth setting you choose – whether hospital, birth center, or home. Brittani believes that every person deserves to feel informed, empowered, and confident in their choices. Her role is to walk alongside you, providing gentle guidance and encouragement while honoring your path. She is a calm, grounded presence whose goal is to become attuned to you, while building your confidence to trust your body and intuition. Brittani’s unwavering dedication to supporting mothers and their partners, along with her deep respect for your birth experience, ensures that you’ll feel truly seen, heard, and inspired in your journey to meet your baby.

Veeda Ahmad

Veeda Ahmad is a birth doula, a Doctor of Physical Therapy specializing in pelvic health, and a grateful mom of two.

She uses this knowledge to guide mothers with movement that supports both comfort and progress throughout labor.

As a doula, Veeda is passionate about creating an environment where families feel safe, calm, and truly cared for. She believes that every birth, no matter how it unfolds, deserves to be surrounded by respect, support, and trust.

Outside of birth work, Veeda enjoys running, baking sweet treats, and soaking up time with her family.

She walks with you through pregnancy, labor, and those first sacred hours after birth so that you feel confident, informed, and never alone.

From your first prenatal conversation, Alexis helps you prepare not just physically, but emotionally. She takes the time to understand your hopes, your fears, and your vision for your birth. She equips you with evidence-based information, practical tools, and thoughtful guidance so you can approach labor feeling grounded and empowered rather than uncertain.

During labor, Alexis becomes your anchor. When contractions build, she offers hands-on comfort, positioning, breathwork, and reassurance that help you stay centered. When emotions rise, she holds space without judgment. If plans shift, she helps you process decisions clearly and confidently, ensuring your voice remains heard and respected.

Your partner is supported too. Alexis helps them feel capable and involved, offering gentle coaching and encouragement so they can show up fully for you — without the pressure of having to carry it all alone.

Above all, Alexis protects the energy of your birth space. She fosters an environment rooted in trust, calm, and deep respect for your body and your intuition. Her presence allows you to soften, surrender, and step into your strength.

Families who work with Alexis often say they didn’t just gain support — they gained peace of mind. They felt steadier. Stronger. More connected. Because they knew someone was wholly devoted to their experience and their well-being.
